Residents and visitors have gathered at the much-loved Vine Gardens for 15 years to enjoy free live music. This year’s Music on the Bandstand programme promises another fantastic season of entertainment. With an exciting mix of new acts and returning favourites, there is something for everyone to enjoy. So bring a rug or chair, and relax in the beautiful surroundings as the music plays throughout the summer. You can also enjoy refreshments from Café on the Vine and the Cricket Club as you listen.
Sunday 19 July: 3pm to 5pm – Jonah’s Wail
This band was a big hit at the Sevenoaks Holly Party last year. Jonah’s Wail plays everything from 1960’s classics up to current chart hits.
Thursday 23 July: 6pm to 8pm – West Kent Concert Band
Formerly known as Second Wind Concert Band, the group is now made up of wind and brass musicians playing traditional, classical, rock, pop and jazz music.
Sunday 26 July: 3pm to 5pm – Kent Police Band
A brass band made up of serving and retired police officers, as well as a large number of civilian players. With a vast repertoire ranging from marches and overtures to selections from popular shows and even pop numbers.
Thursday 30 July: 6pm to 8pm – Soul Train Choir
Performing a selection of uplifting soul and motown songs and celebrating a decade of singing in harmony together. The choir will be joined by some talented local young performers.
Thursday 6 August: 6pm to 8pm – Sevenoaks & Tonbridge Concert Band
A symphonic wind band with a repertoire including orchestral pieces, musical theatre and film scores, traditional military band items and light music of various styles.
Sunday 9 August: 3pm to 5pm – Sevenoaks Saxes
Recently established in the town, Sevenoaks Saxes features all the standard sizes of saxophone – soprano, alto, tenor and baritone, as well as the tiny sopranino and the huge bass saxophone.
Thursday 13 August: 6pm to 8pm – Ian Fox
Singer and songwriter performing blues, rock and Americana on piano.
Sunday 16 August: 3pm to 5pm – Sevenoaks Rock Choir
A popular, local and award-winning contemporary choir. Rock Choir are all about singing, fun and friendship.
Thursday 20 August: 6pm to 8pm – Kent Youth Jazz Orchestra
KYJO is made up of talented young musicians from all over Kent. The band plays a mixture of classic big band tunes and contemporary jazz, funk, rock and latin arrangements.
Saturday 22 August: 3pm to 5pm – Oxted Band – Almost the Last Night of the Proms
A brass band who performs throughout the south east of England. Oxted Band is always a crowd favourite – bring the bubbly and enjoy a summer afternoon of great tunes with friends and family to celebrate ‘Almost the Last Night of the Proms’.
Thursday 27 August: 6pm to 8pm – White Light Band
A lively band with a large mix of music featuring all time classic hits from The Rolling Stones, Billy Idol, Oasis, Killers, The Weeknd and everything in between.
