Our ‘Nooks and Crannies’ guided history tours provides an unrivalled opportunity to learn more about the history of West Horsley Place, our stunning Surrey Manor House and gardens. One of our expert volunteer guides will tell you the story of the house and share its secrets.
Explore the Manor House
During the tour, visitors will explore the nooks and crannies of the house and delve into the fascinating lives of the many illustrious owners, as well as finding out more about the architectural history of the house.

Tread the floors where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I roamed
Discover the incredible connections the house has as your guide peels back layer upon layer of history. Journey though our fascinating story, including wooden beams dating to 1382, Henry VIII’s lunch menu, Elizabeth I’s entertainment and whether Guy Fawkes ever worked here as a footmen.

Legend has it that Bess Raleigh carried her husband’s head with her in a red velvet bag. The ‘Nooks and Crannies’ tour is the only time the bag is on display for the public. See if for yourself and find out whether it could be the very one she used.

Book as an individual, or we have special dates reserved for groups (up to 20 people).
ACCESS
This event is wheelchair accessible, but as this is a historic building please be aware that surfaces are uneven. Access to the ground floor of the Manor House is step free and we have a lift to the first floor. Access through the gardens is step free and to the toilets is step free.
