Wellbeing Walks at West Horsley Place
Across the estate at West Horsley Place there are a number of public and permissive footpaths. They are all free to access for the general public. If you download the wellbeing map you will find some suggested walking routes, including those that are less than 1km – perfect for little legs.
Music and Movement Playgroup at Claremont Fan Court School
This Toddler Music and Movement class, led by professional dance and music teachers, is perfect for ages 18 months to 3 years. These fun and engaging sessions enhance coordination, balance, and motor skills through rhythmic movement, dance and music. This class takes place on Mondays during term time, from 9:45am-10:30am. Whilst classes are free, booking is essential.

Go back in time at Guildford Museum
Guildford Museum is located within historic buildings next to Guildford Castle Grounds. It’s free to visit. The museum is home to a permanent collection of objects from Guildford and the surrounding areas, dating from prehistoric times to the present day. Discover more about famous people connected with Guildford and Surrey. Including garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and author Lewis Carroll. Enjoy our unique collection of needlework and toys. As well as free displays and exhibitions, there is a programme of events and activities for all ages. Including the Scullery playroom where children can:
- role play with the toy kitchen complete with colourful fabric food
- make a pizza and lay a table for dinner
- try washing the Victorian way
- join in with the traditional nursery rhymes printed on the walls
- colouring and activity sheets with pencils and crayons
- relax on a beanbag and read a washing or cooking themed book
- view our display of old cooking equipment
We are open Wednesday to Saturdays 12noon to 4.30pm (last entry 4pm).
The Deepdene Trail
This is a walking trail, just a 15 minute stroll from Dorking’s town centre and railway stations. Visitors are able to enjoy free access to one of the country’s most historically significant gardens – privately owned since their creation in the 17th Century. Guided by a mobile App that reveals glimpses of the landscape as it was in the early 1800’s, the story of the picturesque, Regency landscape and its owners is presented for all ages to enjoy.
