The Light – Redhill

The Light opens action-packed entertainment venue in Redhill this weekend

The Light kickstarted their opening launch in Redhill with a bang as the entertainment venue opened its doors on Friday 16th June.

With over 11 exhilarating activities and a premium six screen cinema, The Light marked its opening weekend with a visit from the Mayor of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead, Councillor Eddy Humphreys. The Light will bring families and groups together – embracing the Mayor’s theme for the year of ‘Togetherness’.

The opening was met with huge anticipation from the local community with a queue of over 100 people waiting for The Light to open its doors.

To celebrate the opening, The Light is offering £5 discounted cinema tickets across all films until Thursday 29th June plus 20% off all food on The Kitchen menu. The Light also has plenty of events planned over their opening weekend with live music, face painters and entertainers to surprise and delight guests plus raise awareness throughout the town.

Guests will be able to kick back and relax in a range of luxury seating with wingback armchairs, electric recliners, loungers and sofas and watch The Flash, Greatest Days, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts from opening.

The summer doesn’t disappoint with a fantastic line up of upcoming films and live events that will be available at The Light including Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Elemental, Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Barbie and Oppenheimer as well as the Royal Opera House’s Sleeping Beauty and National Theatre Live’s GOOD and Oklahoma starring Hugh Jackman.

The Light is also raising funds for its local charity partnership with Stripey Stork, the Surrey baby bank which collects donations of clothes, toys and essential items for babies and children before rehoming them with local families experiencing hardship.

The Light’s opening weekend will allow visitors to experience the wide range of exciting activities including axe-throwing, bowling, duckpin bowling, mini-golf, a climbing arena, interactive darts, shuffleboard, karaoke, curling, an arcade and American pool. Providing guests with the opportunity for all ages to engage with a variety of unique, fun and competitive digital games.

With a team of professionals available to help people play, The Light is delighted to introduce axe-throwing to Redhill for the first time – an activity which is quickly becoming popular across the UK and an excellent opportunity to compete against friends and colleagues at corporate team-building events.

Councillor Eddy Humphreys said: “As we launch The Rise - our brand-new leisure, retail and residential development, I would like to pay tribute to everyone who has worked hard to see this project through. I am delighted to see The Light opening its doors right here in the heart of Redhill. I have no doubt that this will further transform Redhill’s High Street into a vibrant destination that people from across Surrey will want to visit.

"The Light is a high-quality venue, a testament to our commitment to transform Redhill. It will cater for all ages, and I'm thrilled to have been given the honour to officially open it.”

James Morris, Chief Executive at The Light, says: “We’re so excited to be opening our doors here in Redhill and have been blown away by the response.  Our team is ready and raring to go and we can’t wait to welcome people to our new venue.

“Whether you’re looking for delicious food, an amazing movie, fun with your friends, bowling, playing darts or axe throwing, we’ve got something for everyone and can’t wait for you to experience the best in entertainment.”
