Discover Britain’s Wonderful Wildlife This Easter!
There are plenty of opportunities to meet Britain’s wonderful wildlife over the Easter holidays, and there’s no better place to do this than the British Wildlife Centre near Lingfield! The Centre opens its doors from Saturday 1 April to Sunday 16 April and is home to the UK’s finest collection of native wild species. The collection of over forty different species includes everything from tiny harvest mice, Europe’s smallest rodent, right through to red deer, which is Britain’s largest land mammal. You’ll see rare Scottish wildcats, red squirrels, badgers, hedgehogs, foxes and more.
The Centre’s animal residents are housed in spacious enclosures, landscaped to reflect wild habitats, allowing them to display natural behaviour. And the popular Keeper Talks, which take place very half an hour, give you the chance to learn more about these animals and the challenges they face in the wild, while seeing them even closer. The Centre offers so much to see and provides fabulous opportunities for wildlife photography.
Children’s Easter Trail – Easter Sunday 9 April 2023
Children will enjoy spotting eggs that are hidden amongst the animals. There might be one on the banks of the otter ponds, in the red squirrel copse, or being guarded by the barn owls. If children spot them all they’ll win a small chocolate treat. Every entry goes into a prize draw to win Family Membership (for 2 adults and up to 4 children) worth £160, allowing a year’s unlimited visits during normal opening times. All in all, an eggscellent day out!
