Frame the Farm – Godstone Farm

CAN YOU “FRAME THE FARM?” GODSTONE FARM INVITES CHILDREN TO JOIN IN ITS NEW PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

For release: immediate

For over 40 years, families have enjoyed visits to the Godstone Farm, capturing special moments with many of our resident animals. But from 1st November, the Godstone Farm is launching a new photography competition for budding snappers. Children are challenged to “frame the farm” by taking photos of their favourite furry friends between 1st November and 30th January 2022. A short list of winners will be showcased via a virtual gallery on the Godstone Farm website, and the winning photographer will receive a 1:1 photography lesson with the acclaimed wildlife photographer, Tom Sullam – director and judge of the Comedy Wildlife Photography awards.

Nicola Henderson, CEO at Godstone Farm comments: “We’ve all got cameras in our hands these days and even some of our youngest children are pretty savvy at spotting a great shot! So, we’re inviting kids to get snapping their favourite animal on the farm. Entries can either be posted on a parent’s Instagram or Facebook by tagging us and using the hashtag #framethefarm or email us via [email protected] with the subject line, Frame the Farm.”

Henderson added: “Each year we receive literally thousands of tags on our social media channels of a day well-spent at the farm, so it seemed only right to recognise the gems of photos that get captured, often whilst the team is busy across our 45 acres of farmland.”

Frame the Farm competition judge and photographer, Tom Sullam comments: “There’s so much pleasure to be had from capturing special moments we see from the animals on the farm.  By observing, watching and waiting, it can be a fantastic way to build empathy in our kids, to help them realise how alike we really are with our animal friends. Capturing that moment on camera, can help us share our enjoyment of nature and take the time to recognise its value. Once we have opened their eyes, we can expand their understanding of the natural world and encourage them to share our enjoyment of nature and its value.”

“I can’t wait to spend some time with the winning family – to share my tips and tricks for capturing a funny, endearing or heart-warming moment on the farm.”
