June Comes Alive at The Festival Theatre

Midsummer celebrations, Bond glamour and unforgettable live music headline a spectacular month of summer entertainment.

June promises to be one of the most vibrant and atmospheric months of the year at the Festival Theatre, as audiences are invited to step into a season of music, celebration and long summer evenings across some of Kent’s most beautiful historic settings.

Kicking off the month on 5th June, a brand-new chapter begins with the launch of the Dragonfly Farm Sessions. Set within the beautiful surroundings of Dragonfly Farm – a striking contemporary café nestled in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – the new series pairs exceptional live music with farm fresh dining and a relaxed, open-air atmosphere. Opening the programme is London-based collective Mina Mano, whose warm blend of bossa nova, flamenco, jazz and soul creates an intimate, sun-soaked soundtrack for summer evenings.

The month continues at Penshurst Place on 20th June with the return of the hugely popular Midsummer GLOW Fest. As daylight fades, the historic Elizabethan gardens are transformed into a glowing midsummer world of live music, immersive performance and hidden theatrical moments. Guests are led through the fragrant walled gardens, discovering intimate performances nestled within the grounds, before settling into street food, cocktails and dancing beneath the stars as the evening unfolds.

The celebrations then move to Hever Castle on 21st June, where West End performers Too Darn Hot present From Broadway to Bond – The Greatest Musical Movies of All Time. Packed with iconic songs from Grease, Dirty Dancing, Chicago, Mamma Mia! and Les Misérables, the evening builds from high-energy musical favourites to a spectacular James Bond-inspired finale, featuring classic 007 themes including Goldfinger, Diamonds Are Forever, Skyfall and Live and Let Die. It’s a night that pairs West End sparkle with the magic of an open summer evening in the castle grounds.

Together, these events capture the spirit of the Festival Theatre’s June programme – three distinctive settings, each offering its own atmosphere, and a month designed for long evenings, unforgettable performances and summer moments that linger well beyond the final encore.

As the summer season gathers momentum, June at the Festival Theatre offers audiences the perfect opportunity to experience live entertainment in a setting unlike any other.
