Discovery Week Brings Hands-On Farm Fun to Godstone Farm This February Half Term

This February half term, Godstone Farm invites families to roll up their sleeves and experience real farm life during Discovery Week – a joyful, hands-on celebration of all things farmy, running from 14th–22nd February 2026. Designed especially for curious children, Discovery Week gives little farmers the chance to try their hand at genuine farmyard jobs. From feeding pigs and crafting a junk chicken to dressing scarecrows, navigating the scarecrow maze and even inspecting animal poop! Children can collect stamps to receive their Farm certificate. This immersive event is all about learning through play – it’s messy, marvellous and guaranteed to leave children feeling fit for farm life!
Here are just some of the fascinating facts visitors might learn:

Pigs are incredibly intelligent – They can learn tricks, solve simple puzzles and even recognise their own names, they’re often compared to dogs for intelligence.

Cows have best friends – Studies show cows form strong bonds and are calmer and happier when they’re with their preferred companions.

Chickens can remember over 100 faces – Chickens are far smarter than people think, they can recognise different humans and other chickens and remember them for years.

Goats have rectangular pupils – Their unusual eye shape gives them a wide field of vision, helping them spot predators, especially useful on hillsides.

Rabbits communicate with their feet – When a rabbit thumps the ground, it’s not random, it’s a warning signal to others that something doesn’t feel right.

Discovery Week tickets include full access to the entire farm making it easy for families to enjoy a full day out. Visitors can meet over 500 animals, experience the animal interactions and talks, solve clues on the pond walk, head into the depths of the Dino trail and even step inside the reptile house!

There’s plenty of space to burn off energy too, with a huge adventure playground, jumping pillows, sandpits, toboggans and the Wilding Play area complete with a mud kitchen. Indoors, children can enjoy creative role play, explore Wiglet’s Play Village and dive into The Play Barn – Surrey’s largest soft play centre.

Open daily from 10am–5pm (last entry 4pm), Godstone Farm is conveniently located just off Junction 6 of the M25, making it ideal for family days out, half-term adventures.
Discovery Week promises smiles, confidence-boosting moments and lasting memories – plus a true taste of farm life for every little explorer.

Nicola Henderson, CEO of Godstone Farm comments: ““There’s something very special about children getting hands-on with farm life. Discovery Week gives them the chance to learn where food comes from, care for animals and feel a real sense of achievement – all while having a huge amount of fun.”
