Get set and grow your own with Seedball’s Herb Tubes – New for Autumn 2024!
As the British public become more conscious of where their food is coming from, and how much they are willing to pay for it, people are increasingly choosing to grow their own at home in a bid to protect both the planet and their purses.
But not everyone is blessed with a green-thumb, so to help make this journey accessible to all, wildflower specialist company, Seedball, has unveiled its latest innovation, introducing Herb Tubes! By bringing its expertise from the fields to the kitchen, these tubes are a fantastic way to grow fresh, flavourful herbs right at home. No large green space or gardening skills required! These clever little seed balls can be scattered in the garden, in pretty window boxes or in hanging baskets, so everyone can get involved and grow their own healthy aromatics.
Herbs not only add delicious flavour to dishes and drinks, but the plants also provide vital food for pollinators and wildlife. When left to bloom, each herb bursts with wonderful wildflowers, offering a colourful display in the garden, as well as a hearty meal for beneficial bugs and wildlife.
The beautifully illustrated tubes come in a convenient set of five, featuring a curated selection including: basil, chive, mint, parsley and wild rocket salad. This set is perfect for creating a well-rounded herb garden that can cater to a variety of culinary delights, year after year! Each Seedball Herb Tube is also available to buy individually.
Each tube contains 20 seed balls, with specially selected seeds encased in a nutrient-rich clay ball. This protective coating not only nourishes the seeds but also helps them retain moisture and protects them from being eaten by visiting wildlife. Simply scatter the seed balls in a pot, window box or garden bed, water regularly and watch the herb garden flourish!
Like Seedball’s wildflower products, these Herb Tubes inspire a love for gardening that benefits both individuals and the environment, making it possible to enjoy the unbeatable flavour of fresh herbs while promoting a more sustainable, wildlife-friendly approach to gardening.

Seedball was founded by two conservation scientists wanting to boost biodiversity and help wildlife.
The unique products Seedball produces are balls made of clay and peat-free compost containing 30 – 100 seeds per ball, and a touch of chilli powder to deter slugs and snails. The company creates wildflower seedballs in mixed or single variety packages that are developed to help reverse the decline in pollinators and garden wildlife.
Seedball Ltd is an innovative organisation on a mission to help increase the abundance of British wildflowers and the wildlife that depends upon them.
Funding Project Maya CIC, Seedball manufactures wildflower seed balls using a unique innovation of wildflower seeds mixed with clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder to naturally protect seeds from predators. This year, Seedball’s profits have enabled it to purchase land to protect and rewild to support and boost local biodiversity.
Its products are sold in over 900 stores in the UK, including Kew Gardens, The Woodland Trust and Blue Diamond Garden Centres, as well as online retailers such as Crocus and Marie Curie. Seedball also donates products to hundreds of schools and community groups to help support their nature projects.
