We were thrilled to receive a couple of Superquester books from QuestFriendz to review a little while ago.
Superquester books are fantastic and designed to promote a child’s STEM skills and thinking in a really fun and gently challenging way.
Each adventure, which is part of story with engaging characters, has a number of quests which are interactive using stickers to correctly solve puzzles and encourage both conversation and a logical thought process.
The books were for our 5 year old (just 5!). While aimed at the 4-8 year old age group, one or two of the quests were a little (just a tiny bit) above my 5 year old’s ability (although by no means all of them). They did however start him asking some really sensible questions, for example about gravity and space which was quite surprising. He was ultimately very engaged with them but the books (at this age anyway) will ideally need to be worked through with a grown up to help your children get the best out of them. (There’s also a risk the stickers may end up strategically positioned around your house, rather than in the books if left unattended)
The fact that there was a surprising amount of curiosity from our son around the topics and quests was a really nice thing to see and be able to talk about with him.
Challenging and thought provoking, it’s an entertaining and great way of introducing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to a young and inquisitive audience.
