Our outdoor area is one of our most unique things, making St George’s a nursery with a substantial outdoor playing area in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
Our Moto is that Children should go out no matter the weather and now they can!
We are so very pleased to be able to share the results of our recent playground transformation which was completed a few weeks ago. The new and improved area creates a better flowing, more open and greener space for the children to enjoy.
This project has been worked on for a few years, so it really does showcase the fruits of much labour. To get it right we needed to clearly identify our requirements, share, and discuss ideas, agree a design and budget, appoint the right contractor for the work and get as much funding as possible!
We are over the moon with the results, our contractor ‘Natural Playscapes’ have really captured what we wanted to do for St George’s.
These improvements have only been possible with generous donations and grant funding, the kind donation from a former St George’s pupil and of course careful budgeting.
The new space now includes:
- New playhouse
- New climbing frame
- Sensory trail with trellis, and planters with herbs and plants
- Climbing wall
- Large planters with trees and plants
- Softer surfacing
- Planting shed
- New sail shades
- New floor markings
