Family fun

This isn’t just a great Bike Ride; it’s a great day out for the family – and don’t forget to bring your doggie friends!

As well as being the best Bike Ride ever, with four alternative routes for every taste and stamina, and a cost for all, our Bike Ride on Sunday 19th May is also a day of fun for families and those who don’t want to cycle!  As soon as the riders have gone, there’ll be activities for the children including watching Matt Fiddes Martial Arts Mid Sussex display and Walkhouse School of Dance perform, plus a Paws on Track dog show so, if you have a dog friend with the waggiest tail ever, you definitely need to be with us! And then, in the afternoon, there are singers and bands to entertain everyone.

Rob Boughton, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Thakeham, says:

“Grassroots sport plays an important role in any thriving community. We are delighted to support the Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride for a second consecutive year, bringing people of all ages together in Mid Sussex. We wish the participants and their friends and family a great day, whilst raising funds for worthy local causes.”

We’ve been so lucky this year that the local charities we’re supporting, the Bi-Polar Society and Sussex Search & Rescue, have both stepped in and offered marshals throughout the day – for which we’re so grateful. As always, our huge thanks to our lovely sponsors - Thakeham, The Orchards, Mike Oliver Associates, Mansell McTaggart and Amphibian Scaffolding; all these, together with the huge number of our amazing volunteers, truly make this a day to remember and means we can really make a difference to our local charities.  We’re also delighted that our lovely friends at the Co-op and Waitrose are going to provide all the water and bananas for our riders so a big ‘Thank You’!

Chairman of the Bike Ride Team, Mike Oliver, says: “It’s getting exciting. Everything is fitting into place. Routes all checked, and they’ll be rechecked for your safety, so you’re good to go and the weather will be with you. Here’s to a fantastic GHHBR No. 11 for all of us.”

We’re so looking forward to seeing all of you, so do come along – to ride or just be part of the fun!  For more details, go to www.hhbikeride.co.uk or call 01444 455694 and register NOW! Registration on the day begins at 7.00 am on the Sunday in The Broadway. And, if you don’t ride but want to be part of the ‘Team’ by helping, call Ruth on 01444 453 399 ([email protected]).
