The countdown is almost over, with just one week to go until Haywards Heath Town Day returns to Victoria Park on Saturday 12th September. From 12pm to 9pm, residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a fantastic FREE day of entertainment and activities, with something to keep the whole family entertained throughout the day.
Visitors can enjoy a huge range of activities, including face painting, balloon modelling, circus skills, crazy golf, funfair rides and the ever-popular miniature railway. Visitors can also meet a life-size T-Rex, admire a selection of classic vehicles and head over to the skate park, where the SkateFarm team will be running a session from 12pm to 5pm. Animal lovers can also bring their four-legged friends along for The Mewes Vets Dog Show, with registration opening at 12pm.
There will be plenty to see and do, with a fantastic selection of local stalls showcasing businesses, charities and organisations from across Haywards Heath and the surrounding area. Visitors can discover local services, take part in tombolas and games, and browse for unique gifts and products. There will also be a wide variety of food and drink vendors, alongside a bar and coffee, so you can make a full day of your visit.
The entertainment programme will run throughout the day, with performances from local community groups and musicians leading into an exciting evening line-up. Lizzie Bea, originally from Haywards Heath and known for her West End performances in Hairspray, Sister Act and Les Misérables, will perform at 6pm, followed by annual Town Day compère Paul Stanworth at 6.30pm. Local indie-pop duo Sweet Loretta will take to the stage at 7pm, before headline act ABBA ReBjörn brings the day to a spectacular close from 7.30pm.
Town Mayor, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, has chosen Kangaroos Mid Sussex as his charity for his second term of office. The local charity provides activities, opportunities and support for children and adults with learning disabilities. Town Day is free to attend, with donation buckets available at the Town Council gazebos for those who would like to make a suggested £2 donation. Kangaroos will also be hosting a Quiet Area at the event, providing a calm space for anyone who needs a break from the busy atmosphere.
