Haywards Heath Young Carers Event – Celebrating Our Incredible Young Carers This Easter

Haywards Heath Town Council is delighted to announce a special Young Carers Event taking place this Easter holidays, dedicated to recognising and celebrating the remarkable young people in our community who provide care and support to others.

Across Haywards Heath and the wider area, many young people spend their time supporting a family member, friend, or neighbour—demonstrating compassion, resilience, and maturity far beyond their years. This free event has been created to give these young carers a well‑deserved day of fun, relaxation, and connection with others who share similar experiences.

Event Details
Date: Thursday 9th April
Time: 10:00am – 3:00pm
Who: Young carers aged 8 to 16
Cost: Completely FREE

The day will begin with an energising morning session at Skate Farm, followed by an afternoon at the Haywards Heath Town Hall featuring pizza making, games, and creative activities.

A spokesperson for Haywards Heath Town Council said:
“Young carers give so much of their time, energy, and love to support others, often without any recognition. This event is our way of giving something back—a day where they can relax, have fun, and simply enjoy being young. Young carers play a vital role in our community, and we want them to know that we recognise their strength and kindness. We hope this event gives them new memories, new friendships, and above all, a well‑deserved break.”

Haywards Heath Town Council encourages residents, schools, and community organisations to spread the word. If you know a young person who regularly helps care for someone and would benefit from this uplifting day, the team would love to hear from you.
