Haywards Heath Town Council is once again inviting local businesses to help spread festive cheer across the town centre by taking part in this year’s “Best Dressed Window Competition.”
Both retail and non-retail businesses are encouraged to join in the celebrations for the annual Christmas Festival by decorating their shopfronts and office windows in true Christmas style. Last year’s competition drew an incredible response, with over 2,000 public votes cast for Haywards Heath’s favourite festive displays.
The competition will open on Friday 21st November and run for two weeks, closing at 5pm on Friday 5th December. Members of the public will be invited to vote for their favourite window by scanning a QR code displayed in participating windows.
Entry is free, and businesses can register by completing the online form.
The deadline to enter is Monday 17th November. After this date, Haywards Heath Town Council will publish a list of participating windows on its website and social media channels, so residents and visitors can enjoy a festive trail around the town. Votes will be accepted both online and over the phone.
The winners in each category will receive an engraved plaque, while runners-up will be awarded a framed certificate to proudly display — ideally in their beautifully decorated windows! Prizes are kindly sponsored by Mid Sussex District Council.
The results will be announced on Monday 7th December, and the Town Mayor will present the awards shortly after.
Cllr Duncan Pascoe, Town Mayor of Haywards Heath, said: “This competition brings our community and local businesses together in a wonderful display of festive creativity. Each year, the windows transform our town into a magical Christmas scene, and we can’t wait to see what everyone creates this time.”
Join in, get creative, and help make Haywards Heath shine this Christmas!
