Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC) are proud to announce a new partnership with Folkington’s, a Sussex-based premium brand of fruit juices, sparkling drinks and mixers, with a strong presence not only in Sussex, but also across the UK and internationally. Founded in 2012 by MD, Paul Bendit after 12 years of developing both premium and innovative soft drinks for leaders in the catering sector and stand-alone brands, the ambition in creating the Folkington’s brand was to replicate the authenticity and provenance that stand behind fine wines (“terroir”) into a range of fruit juices and soft drinks. Putting the good of the environment, their stakeholders, and customers at the heart of everything they do, backed up by their commitment to sustainable sourcing and provenance defines the essence of the brand. Indeed, it is this approach that has seen the family-owned business recently awarded B Corp™ status.
The company’s support for DVLCC will support children throughout Sussex, and the southeast of England, to access specialist therapy services to further their physical development. DVLCC support children under five with cerebral palsy, chromosome abnormalities (such as Downs Syndrome) and rare genetic disorders (including Rett Syndrome and Angelman’s Syndrome). All children accessing the service have a physical impairment and are offered a range of therapeutic services including physiotherapy, music therapy and speech and language therapy, among others. Partnerships, like DVLCC’s new connection with Folkington’s, help the charity to further their work and support more children to reach their full potential.
Glenys Creese, CEO of Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, said: “We are so grateful to Folkington’s for choosing to support us. Partnerships with local businesses give us brilliant opportunities to further our work, while allowing companies to give back to the community.”
Paul Bendit, MD of Folkington’s, said: “As a family-owned business based in Sussex, we collectively choose to support local charities whose values align closely with our own, both professionally and personally. The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity is one such example, delivering an inspirational programme for children under five suffering from cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments, which helps them build their communication and physical skills, whilst providing valuable support for their parents. Having heard about the life-changing outcomes for all involved, we didn’t hesitate to pledge our support to help deliver this important service for our wider community.”
