Brighton Theatre Group incorporating the youth company has been performing musical theatre for 55 years within Brighton & Hove from formation in May 1968 by Mavis Ward. Under the presidency of Dora Bryan OBE and Dame Flora Robson DBE the company established a reputation for excellence in musical theatre which continues to this day.
An award winning registered charity, the company meets twice a week on Tuesday / Wednesday evenings to rehearse fully staged musicals at The Old Market and Theatre Royal Brighton.
2024 staging Oliver! at Theatre Royal Brighton the company returns to that theatre with Oliver! in February 2024, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie Teen Edition. 2025 will see the staging of Charlie & The Chocolate Factory, February half-term at the Theatre Royal Brighton, and Les Misérables – Schools Edition, summer 2025.
