Following the resounding success of last year’s Summer Holiday Workshops, The Capitol Horsham is thrilled to announce its highly anticipated summer activity. Designed to inspire and empower young writers, performers and filmmakers, this year’s workshop promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with creativity, learning and lots of fun.
Movie In A Week is set to take place from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August right in the heart of The Capitol Theatre’s main stage. Led by theatre practitioners Poppy Marples and Megan Bewley, this immersive workshop is tailored for ages 11-16 (school years 7-11 from Sept 2024) and runs from 10am to 4pm daily.
Participants will embark on a journey writing their own script, creating unique characters, sourcing & designing props for a play to be filmed whilst learning Acting for Camera skills., From filming on their iPhones to editing on a laptop, students will discover how to create cinematic masterpieces on a budget, unlocking their potential as storytellers in the digital age.
With flexible payment options available, including a 50% deposit to secure their spot, Movie In A Week offers an accessible and affordable way for young filmmakers to unleash their creativity and hone their skills. Spaces are limited, so The Capitol recommends booking early.
