Educational Sessions for Little Learners Arrive in Telford

Telford mums launch hands on learning sessions to fill preschool gap

Two local mums, Kirsty and Gillian, have launched a new initiative, Mini Minds Matter Most, to offer hands on educational sessions for little learners aged 0 to 5 years.

Kirsty and Gillian identified a gap in local preschool learning opportunities and are passionate about giving children the best start through fun, engaging, and purposeful play. Gillian is a qualified teacher, and Kirsty brings a business background with experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN) so they are well positioned to ensure their sessions are both educational and accessible.

Their philosophy is clear: they truly believe it takes a village to raise a child, and they want every family to feel part of theirs.

The programme offers early exposure to key developmental skills through three main types of sessions:

  • STEM Learning: Focused on science, technology, engineering, and maths, these sessions encourage critical thinking through practical, hands on activities. The groups are kept deliberately small, with a maximum of eight children, to ensure high quality engagement for every child.
  • Music & Lights: These classes support sensory development, rhythm, and coordination in a stimulating and accessible environment.
  • Mini Motor Skills: Sessions concentrating on the development of fine and gross motor skills, which are crucial foundations for skills such as early writing.

Mini Minds Matter Most currently runs during term time in Telford, with plans to expand its reach in the new year.

You can find out more about the sessions, including booking information, on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

Current Term Time Session Details:

  • STEM Learning: £8 per child. Wednesdays, 9.30am at Arleston Community Centre. A new STEM class is also coming to Ketley Community Centre in January.
  • Music & Lights: £4 per child. Mondays, 9.30am at Silver Threads Donnington.
