British Wildlife Centre

DISCOVER BRITAIN’S WONDERFUL WILDLIFE

There are plenty of opportunities to meet Britain’s wonderful wildlife at the British Wildlife Centre this season. The Centre is home to the UK’s finest collection of native wild species, which includes everything from tiny harvest mice, Europe’s smallest rodent, right through to red deer, which is Britain’s largest land mammal. You’ll see otters, wildcats, owl-flying, badgers and foxes, and enjoy a walk among free-ranging red squirrels. It’s a REAL natural history experience!

Through the autumn the trees and shrubs lend a beautiful green backdrop to the wonderful wild species that live there. The Centre’s animal residents are housed in spacious enclosures, landscaped to reflect natural habitats. The Centre is hoping for many new season arrivals including red deer calves and fallow fawns in the deer park, baby hedgehogs, known as hoglets, and red squirrel kits.

The popular Keeper Talks, which take place very half an hour, give you the chance to learn more about these animals and the challenges they face in the wild, while seeing them even closer. The Centre offers so much to see and provides fabulous opportunities for wildlife photography.
