Hudjo: Innovative App Makes Cycling Safer in London

Anyone who cycles in London knows the stress of leaving your bike parked up, and not being sure it will be there when you get back.

After having their bicycle’s stolen, David Gamble and Charlie FitzRoy have teamed up to crack down on the issue.

They’ve created an app called Hudjo that enables bike owners to securely park within the premises of local businesses (think Airbnb but for parking your bike).

The service is predominantly aimed at cyclists who want peace of mind when leaving their bikes to go shopping, meet friends for a meal, spend a day in town with the family, etc.

It’s simple and easy to use – just use the app to find a business near you that offers secure bike parking. Go to business, check your bike in, and then enjoy your time with peace of mind.

Bike parking costs 1-5 pence per minute, with an additional transaction fee of 30 pence per parking session. 80% of the time rate goes directly to the business, helping to support local business and build better communities.

The app currently covers Kingston, Surbiton, Richmond, Epsom, Battersea, East Sheen, Paddington, Fulham, Wandsworth, Ealing, Bow, Hammersmith, Canary Wharf, Tower Bridge and Blackheath with more locations on the way.

Family Grapevine readers can get their first park for free by using code FAMILY-GRAPEVINE. Just download the app, click account and choose Apply Coupon to enter the code.
