Short Mystery Stories help Vulnerable Children & Families

Peter Frost

Dear Family Grapevine Readers,

You may remember that I was raising money for children in Ukraine via the charity World Vision.

I wanted to tell you that from the sale of my books….. £1,500 has now been raised and sent to World Vision (see above).

Things have moved on well… I have been a speaker at a Rotary and soon I will be speaking at a Women’s Institute AGM, so I hope to sell a few more books so that we can get to the next target of £5,000 for the charity World Vision to support their aid for children in Ukraine. World Vision have already reached over 1 million Ukrainian children, providing food, blankets, mattresses, generators and educational help.

In addition, Berkshire Radio have, on two separate occasions, read out one of Uncle Chris’s mystery short stories on air, which I recorded and sent to them. Hampshire’s Fiesta FM have done the same.

One of my stories was long listed recently for the “Mysterious Murder Short Story” competition this year. The judges said  “A good old-fashioned crime story that packs a heist in under 3,000 words, and quite twisty. It kept me guessing till the end, and I felt I really knew the characters”.

I think I have hit on the theme that many people haven’t the time to read a whole book in one sitting, so the idea of a ten-minute-read mystery story with a clever twist at the end really resonates with people. Amazon and Goodreads reviews are wonderful.

Thank you very much to the Family Grapevine for helping me spread the message of the books, and because of this, we have had a great start in getting traction and thus raising funds for World Vision.

Books are £10 each online from Amazon and Waterstones. All royalties to the author are forwarded to the charity.
