A C19 site within<br \/>\nan 800 hectare estate, managed organically to enhance wildlife, cultural heritage and beauty. The gardens invite the wider landscape in with native woodland flora, meadows and hedgerows, framing views to hills and lake. We strive<br \/>\nto garden with a greater respect for the natural world. Features inc restored Victorian orangery, naturalistic gardens planted with mainly native species, meadows, potager and brownfield site. Due to uneven paths, please wear sensible shoes. Sorry no dogs. Wheelchair access to main garden features. Some uneven surfaces over grass, cobbles and steps.<\/p>\n<p>Occasionally garden openings are cancelled please always check on the NGS <a href=\"https:\/\/ngs.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a> before visiting a garden.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors The National Garden Scheme have donated over \u00a377.8 million to nursing and health charities and in 2025 made an annual donation of over \u00a33.8 million. The core beneficiaries include Carers Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Parkinson\u2019s UK and The Queen\u2019s Institute of Community Nursing.<\/p>\n<p>The National Garden Scheme doesn\u2019t just open beautiful gardens for charity \u2013 they are passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of gardens too.
