Otford, Sevenoaks, Kent, UK<\/span><\/i> –  While most in the UK will be enjoying a quiet, summery weekend on  <\/span>June 12th\u201314th<\/b>, a team of eight from Russell House School will be facing a \u2018knife-edge\u2019 challenge 4,413 feet above sea level.<\/span><\/p>\n

The group is set to depart for a grueling <\/span>1,000-mile round trip<\/b> to Fort William to climb Ben Nevis. However, they aren’t taking the standard mountain path. To raise much-needed funds for Demelza Children\u2019s Hospice, the team has committed to the <\/span>C\u00e0rn M\u00f2r Dearg (CMD) Ar\u00eate<\/b>. This is a high-altitude, technical scramble that follows a narrow, rocky ridge connecting to the summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"The challenge is expected to take up to <\/span>12 hours <\/b>of continuous physical exertion. The goal? To raise at least <\/span>\u00a310,000 for Demelza<\/b>, an organization that provides world-class clinical care and emotional support to children with terminal conditions and their families across the South East.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe CMD Ar\u00eate isn’t just a walk. It\u2019s a serious test of nerves and stamina,” says Craig McCarthy, Russell House Headmaster, \u201cBut when you compare a long drive and a bit of vertigo to the incredible bravery shown by the children and families at Demelza every day, it puts the whole challenge into perspective. We want to hit that \u00a310,000 mark to help ensure that no family has to face their challenges alone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
