{"id":43789,"date":"2023-04-30T17:47:22","date_gmt":"2023-04-30T17:47:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thefamilygrapevine.co.uk\/west-kent\/?p=43789"},"modified":"2023-04-30T18:21:42","modified_gmt":"2023-04-30T18:21:42","slug":"amy-the-g-o-a-t-greatest-of-all-time-our-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thefamilygrapevine.co.uk\/west-kent\/2023\/04\/30\/amy-the-g-o-a-t-greatest-of-all-time-our-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Amy The G.O.A.T Greatest of all Time &#8211; Our Book Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were thrilled to get our hands on a copy of the AMY THE G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Time), the debut book by local Edenbridge author Louiseee (with three e&#8217;s)<\/p>\n<p>Brilliantly illustrated by Rob Page, this heart warming, uplifting and page ripping story (literally) is about being yourself.\u00a0 Or a Goat, or whoever you want really&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0it deals with issues of acceptance, conformity and not being afraid of being who you want to be.<\/p>\n<p>Amy is 10x years old and lives with her &#8216;unconventional&#8217;\u00a0family, I say unconventional, however what this fantastic book tries to convey is that unconventional doesn&#8217;t really exist.\u00a0 Amy is unhappy at school and at home, but after being forced to attend her mum&#8217;s circus performance rehearsal (on her birthday), she comes across a Goat&#8230;. and then the fun begins.<\/p>\n<p>What follows is a hilarious and touching tale about what it means to find your inner G.O.A.T, to find true friendship and a sense of belonging.<\/p>\n<p>With an evil head teacher, two school bullies, a moody brother, a step dad, a Mum who tries her best (despite it not always coming across that way), a herd of goats and a happy ending, it has pretty much everything, including an introduction to conversational French!<\/p>\n<p>Aimed at the middle and upper primary school age group, the story is a genuine page turner and we loved it.\u00a0 Just resist eating each page after reading and shouting &#8216;Mehhhhhhhh&#8217; .\u00a0 OR be a G.O.AT, eat each page after reading and shout &#8216;Mehhhhhhh&#8217; as often as you like!<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d definitely recommend getting your hooves on a copy!<\/p>\n<p>Mehhhhhhh<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Author<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This book sees Louise with three eee\u2019s fulfil her lifelong ambition to pen a children\u2019s book. She commeted: \u201cAfter completing a masters in scriptwriting, I knew I wanted to pour all my spare time into penning stories for children. My two nieces, aged five and seven, read the manuscript and their feedback was incredible. They both loved the silliness of it all. At a time when everything in society is under the microscope, I enjoy writing stories that reflect topical debates and my view on reality.
