There are an exciting range of \u00a31\/\u20ac1.50 books for 2025, appealing to a whole range of readers, from beginners to teens, for all to enjoy reading for fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the core of the charity\u2019s work to change lives through reading is the opportunity for all children to have a book of their own. Almost 1 million children in the UK don\u2019t own a book,<a href=\"#_ftn1\" id=\"_ftnref1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a> which rises to one in 8 for children eligible for Free School Meals. A quarter of children receiving Free School Meals said that the book they \u2018bought\u2019 with their World Book Day token was the first book of their own.<a href=\"#_ftn2\" id=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The \u00a31\/\u20ac1.50 book line-up includes short stories from firm family favourites Bluey and Paddington Bear for beginning and early reading abilities, as well as a search-and-find story from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, and a selection of poems for every occasion from the 2022-2024 Children\u2019s Laureate Joesph Coelho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more fluent and independent readers, Benjamin Dean captivates young adults with a standalone thriller, while Tom Palmer scores with &#8216;The Soccer Diaries: Rocky Takes the Lead&#8217;. Books featuring the beloved and globally renowned brands Pok\u00e9mon and the LEGO<strong>\u00ae<\/strong> Group also feature in this year\u2019s selection for children across the UK and Ireland to enjoy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Supported by long-term sponsor, National Book Tokens, and working alongside publishers and booksellers, World Book Day will build on its work to improve access to books and encouraging everyone to give children the choice \u2013 and a chance \u2013 to enjoy reading.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Cassie Chadderton, CEO of World Book Day comments:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u201cWe\u2019re encouraging children to Read Their Way, choosing what and how they read for themselves.
