New summer holiday drama camp comes to Telford
Newport-based Community Theatre Company, Moonstruck Astronaut, is bringing a vibrant co-creative drama workshop week to Telford Town Centre during the School Summer Holidays.
Telford Tall Tales Storytelling Week is a fun way of boosting the performance skills and improving the self-expression and self-confidence of 8 to 14-year-olds.
Over a week, guided by a team of professional drama, movement and storytelling specialists, artists and enthusiastic volunteers, children and young people will co-create a bespoke ‘Tall Tale’ performance.
During this immersive week, children and young people will be divided into small groups of four or five, where they will be guided through the stages of crafting their fantastical tale performance in a fun, engaging, and structured manner.
The week will culminate with the children sharing their group’s Tall Tales with an invited audience of family and friends at 3.15 p.m. on Friday, leaving them with a sense of accomplishment.

Places are limited to ensure that every child who attends is supported and included, receiving tailored coaching and guidance throughout the experience.
Hannah de Quincey, Artistic Director, said: “We are delighted that all the hard work, which took place in the winter months, has paid off, and we can continue our mission to be in orbit around children, co-creating arts projects that uplift and unite.
“By running our workshops in Telford Town Centre, we hope to attract more participants and increase its accessibility, visibility and community engagement.”
Telford Tall Tales has been subsidised by funding from Arts Council England the People’s Postcode Lottery Postcode Local Trust and Happy, Healthy Active Holidays (Telford & Wrekin Council).

Autumn storytelling workshops
Telford Tall Tales will be back in Telford Town Centre in Autumn with a full day workshop on Saturday 13th of September and Thursday early evening sessions during September and October.
This fun, playful term-time drama co-creating magical stories with professional artists will builds your child’s confidence, creativity and teamwork on many levels.
