Residents and visitors are invited to step back in time and explore the hidden stories of the town with the launch of the Haywards Heath History Hunt – an interactive, family-friendly experience running now until Monday 27th April.<\/p>

Starting and ending at the Town Hall, this exciting digital trail takes participants on a journey through Haywards Heath\u2019s past. Discover where the town\u2019s first school and cinema once stood, uncover how Victoria Park became a cherished public space, and reveal fascinating, lesser-known pieces of local history along the way. The full experience takes approximately 40 minutes to complete and covers a 1.6-mile route that is mostly flat, making it accessible for a wide range of participants. Dogs are also welcome to join in and complete the route alongside their owners.<\/p>

Using their phone, players can follow the trail and earn points by finding locations, answering questions, and completing fun challenges. Compete with friends, family, and the wider community to climb the leaderboard and become a History Hunt champion.<\/p>

The event is completely free to play and designed for all ages, making it a perfect activity for families, friends, and curious explorers alike. Participants simply need to download the TurfHunt app on iOS or Android and select Haywards Heath from the map to begin.<\/p>

Cllr Duncan Pascoe, the Mayor of Haywards Heath, said: \u201cThis is a fantastic way for residents and visitors of all ages to engage with our town\u2019s rich history in a fun and interactive way. The History Hunt not only brings our heritage to life, but also encourages people to get outdoors, explore, and take pride in the wonderful community we have here in Haywards Heath.\u201d<\/em><\/p>

Those who enjoy the experience are encouraged to support a good cause by making a donation at the Town Hall. All proceeds will go towards the Mayor\u2019s Charity of the Year, the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, helping to support children with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments. Donations can be made easily via card machine or in cash using donation buckets available at the Town Hall.<\/p>

The History Hunt also runs alongside the Haywards Heath Pop-Up Museum, taking place at the Town Hall this Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4pm. The museum is also free to enter and offers an engaging look at the town\u2019s rich heritage.<\/p>
