Unearth the secret tools plants use to grow on our half-term trail. Join us to learn more about how plants grow and how we can best care for them.
Set off on a winding trail through the Mansion gardens and learn about the five elements – soil, water, sunlight, air, and shelter – that plants need to grow healthy and strong. Use your activity booklet to piece together the clues and learn more about how plants survive and thrive.
Put what you’ve learnt to good use. At the end of the trail you’ll get to roll up your sleeves and sow your own broad bean to take home with you.
This event is in partnership with the Climate Coalition, the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to taking action against climate change. As part of this half-term initiative they’ll be encouraging us to show our love for all the things we want to protect from climate change, and plants are at the top of our list.
Cost: £2 per child
Who are the Climate Coalition?
The Climate Coalition is the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to taking action against climate change.
Along with their sister organisations Stop Climate Chaos Cymru and Stop Climate Chaos Scotland, they’re a group of over 130 organisations – including the National Trust, Women’s Institute, Oxfam, and RSPB – reaching across the UK to show their love for all the things they want to protect from climate change, and to ask politicians to put aside their differences and commit to doing whatever is necessary to protect them.
