Story Trail: The Adventures of Dexter the Dragon Scout
This summer, explore the woodland on an interactive story trail and help Dexter the Dragon Scout earn his summer badges. But beware – whenever Dexter laughs or sneezes, he breathes fire turning his challenges into smoke! Will Dexter overcome his fiery mishaps and triumph on his journey? Follow the trail to find out as you test your skills by taking on the challenge badges yourself. Complete them all to win a prize.
The trail is perfect for children aged 3-8 years, with a separate trail for 9-12 year olds. Cost: £4 per trail, plus Garden admission (to include a prize). Free for Members

Thurs 25 July, 10am & 1.30pm - Workshop: Create a Dinosaur Animation Film
Become a stop-motion animation expert! Craft your own dinosaur film using plasticine and more. Suitable for ages 7+. £20 per child to include admission.
Fri 26 July - 10am, 11.45am & 2pm - The Big Dragon Sculpture Workshop
Help build a magnificent dragon sculpture using recycled materials and take home your own dragon head puppet! Ages 5-12. £12 per child, plus admission.
Tues 30 July - 10am & 2pm - Clay Modelling: Dinosaurs & Dragons
Get creative with clay! Make dinosaur models or craft dragons to take home. Ages 5-12. £5 per child, plus admission.
Sat 3 August - Dino Day – Interactive Shows
Step into the prehistoric era with "Dinotastic Dinosaurs" at 10am & 1.30pm and the chance to “Meet a T-Rex!” at 11am & 2pm. Limited spaces – book now! Ages 5+. £10 per child, plus admission.
Weds 7 August - 10am & 11.15am - Dino & Dragon Drawing Workshop
Join Tony De Saulles, the illustrator behind Horrible Science, for an entertaining drawing session. Ages 5+. £8 per child, plus admission.
Weds 14th August -10am & 11.45am - Storytelling & Craft Making: The Dragon’s Pearl
Join our storyteller for a captivating Chinese folktale about a boy who finds a rare dragon pearl. Enjoy dragon-themed crafts afterward. Suitable for ages 5-11. £8 per child, plus admission.
Tues 20 August - 10.30am & 11.30am - Fossil Detectives: Interactive Talk & Activities
Discover fossils with hands-on activities and games. Suitable for ages 6-11. £5 per child, plus admission.

Puppet Show: Whispering Smith - 10.30am & 1.30pm
Enjoy an interactive puppet show about a shy creature in need of help. Suitable for ages 2-8. £5 per child, plus admission.
