Two Specialist Plant Fairs at Borde Hill Garden

Two Specialist Plant Fairs at Borde Hill Garden

18th April and 12th September

Following the huge success of last year’s Specialist Plant Fair, two more Plant Fairs have been arranged at Borde Hill Garden for 2021.

An exciting line-up of independent UK nurseries from across five counties in the South East (including several RHS exhibitors) will be at both events, and the Plant Fairs Roadshow’s very own Plant Doctor will be able to answer questions and help visitors find the right plant for the right place. Borde Hill’s gardening team will also be available during the events to answer all your gardening questions (at a social distance, of course).

The first event will take place on April 18th . It’s a wonderful time to visit Borde Hill, with a great display of rhododendrons, azaleas and flowering trees, bluebells starting to appear in the woodland areas, tulips en masse and 1,000 Fritillaria orientalis ‘Rubra’ looking stunning in the Italian Garden.

The second Plant Fair will be held on 12th September when plenty of late summer colour can be enjoyed at Borde Hill Garden, with Rudbeckia ‘Goldsturm’, Miscanthus sinensis and Pennisetum ‘Hameln’ looking particularly lovely in the late afternoon sun. The Midsummer Border, still colourful despite its name, is home to Helenium ‘Moerheim Beauty’, Verbena bonariensis, Gold Standard roses, Calamagrostis brachytricha, Sedum ‘Marchants Best Red’, crocosmias as well as Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Diabolo’, while white Japanese anemones take over in the White Garden.  Josephine’s Way is the place to see selections of carex, pennisetum and panicum looking their best, interplanted with gorgeous ‘Mystic Series’ dahlias.

The Plant Fairs Roadshows will be open from 11am – 4pm

Entry to Borde Hill Garden and Plant Fair: £9.95 per person (free to Friends of Borde Hill only – RHS and & HHA members pay full price).

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, tickets are limited and need to be pre-booked online.
