Chris Robshaw Hosts The Only Camps’ First Rugby Superstar Masterclass

On Saturday, 19 December 2020, ex-England & Harlequins captain and rugby legend, Chris Robshaw, hosted The Only Camps’ first ever rugby Superstar Masterclass at Worthing Rugby Club, West Sussex.

Working alongside The Only Camp directors, Freddie Pierrepont (RFU Level 3 Rugby Coach and Rugby Performance Manager at Hurstpierpoint College) and ex-England and Harlequins rugby player Jordan Turner-Hall, as well as Ollie Lindsay-Hague (England 7s, Rio Olympics Silver Medallist), 140 children joined the Masterclass.

Sussex based The Only Camps, leaders in offering expert-led sports camps and coaching for 4-16-year olds, announced the all-star line-up for their new Superstar Masterclass program in early December. Sports and Superstars included Tamsin Greenway (England Netball Legend), Mark Robinson OBE & Anya Shrubsole MBE (England Cricket), Chris Nash (Sussex Cricket), Luke Taylor, Sarah Jones and Laura Myers (England & Wales & Great Britain Hockey)

The masterclasses were run under each national governing body’s COVID regulations, in line with current government guidelines. Children were temperature checked on arrival, were required to sanitise their hands and practice social distancing throughout the session. Children were placed in bubbles by age.

Chris Robshaw said: “I thoroughly enjoyed working with The Only Camps to coach the next generation of rugby players. Their energy and enthusiasm for the game was awesome. The Only Camps did a superb job of implementing the national governing body’s Covid regulations and a lot of fun was had by all. I look forward to working with them again in the future.”

Director Freddie Pierrepont said: “We knew our rugby Superstar Masterclass with Chris Robshaw would be popular and we were delighted to sell out, as we did across all of our masterclasses this December. We could not have been happier to have the opportunity to coach a record number of children over the three days, given the current climate. We aim to provide opportunities for youngsters to play the sports they love, guided by the best in the game, as much as possible. We are really excited to already be planning on our next series of Superstar Masterclasses for 2021.”
