Original fruit snack brand Fruit Bowl gets behind Coeliac UK Awareness Week 2018

Fruit Bowl – the nation’s first ever fruity fun snacks, are championing Coeliac UK’s Awareness Week this year, and getting behind their 50th birthday celebrations.

Currently 1 in 100 people are diagnosed with coeliac disease, and many more are gluten intolerant (non-celiac gluten sensitivity). It is at best unpleasant, and at worst a living nightmare. We are probably all guilty of not paying enough attention to our diet, and indeed our digestion and symptoms relating to it, so finding products that take the worry away, is a huge plus.

ALL Fruit Bowl products are coeliac friendly, healthy snacks, that are easily portable, very versatile tasty little treats, perfect for adults and children alike. No compromise on taste, just the natural fruit sweetness.

However, diagnosis rates are still low – The Association of European Coeliac Societies1 works hard to help health workers and doctors “to identify the symptoms early on as well as helping those who may be experiencing symptoms that could be related to coeliac disease.” They are also providing “important information to government institutions to gain support for those affected.”

The rise of the ‘Free From’ food movement is gaining market share, but the average cost of gluten-free products is 3-4 times the price of standard equivalent products, and has limited availability. Coeliac UK has just launched a massive research appeal to raise £5m where they hope to bring about positive change for those with coeliac disease and gluten related autoimmune conditions.
