Team GB Athlete and ‘Sporting Giant’, Chris Gregory, visited Cumnor House Sussex for a day of mentoring and team-building, aimed at inspiring and encouraging the next generation of sportsmen and sportswomen.
In his presentation to Cumnor’s Years 5 & 6 pupils, Chris – who stands at 6’10″ and whose impressive achievements in the beach volleyball arena have earned him international medals and British Championships – encouraged the 10 to 12 year-olds to seize every opportunity in life, whether in the field of sport, academia or elsewhere.
“Chris had so many fascinating stories to tell during his presentation” commented Craig Burgess, Director of Sport at Cumnor House Sussex “In sharing the trials and triumphs of his own sporting journey, he clearly demonstrated how his involvement in sport has been absolutely key to developing his confidence, self-esteem and work ethic. He was a true inspiration to the children.”
Following his talk, Chris delivered a series of outdoor sessions focussed on sporting and team-building activities aimed at encouraging the children to realise their potential, achieve their best and to enjoy the positive impact that sport can have on their lives.
