GOLD MEDAL AND NEW SWIMMING RECORD FOR CUMNOR HOUSE SUSSEX PUPIL

GOLD MEDAL AND NEW SWIMMING RECORD FOR CUMNOR HOUSE SUSSEX PUPIL

Cumnor House Sussex pupil, Millie Forcier, came home with a gold medal and a new Championship record in the Under 12, 25m Butterfly following a magnificent swim at the annual competition of the Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS), which was held at K2 in Crawley this year.

Schools from all over the UK travelled to K2 to take part in the contest, where competition for medals is always fierce.  Millie beat the previous record by .01 of a second coming home in 14.25 seconds.  She received her medal from London 2012 Olympic 200m breaststroke silver medal winner, Michael Jamieson.

“We are so proud of Millie who loves her swimming and really deserves this success and recognition after a lot of hard work,” commented Craig Burgess, Director of Sport at Cumnor House Sussex. “It is particularly heart-warming that, with the IAPS Swimming Nationals event being hosted in Sussex this year, Cumnor House Sussex is waving the flag for the county, being the only Sussex school listed on the new Championship records set in 2017.”
