Don’t miss our 50th Anniversary Celebration on Sunday 30th August featuring popular music band ‘The bb Collective’ who will perform classic 60s music to complement the 60’s dress theme, with food and drink, garden guided tour, games and much more. Visitors are encouraged to get into the 60s groove and bring a picnic to enjoy the entertainment with.
In the morning, current owner of Borde Hill Andrewjohn Stephenson Clarke, will lead a series of talks on the Garden’s history and its creation by his great grandfather. Visitors can also enjoy an exhibition of historical documents dating from the 1900s, which include archived photographs and rare letters to Borde Hill’s founder, Colonel Stephenson R Clarke, from the Great Victorian Plant Collectors.
The bb Collective’s original band, Soul Sauce was formed in 2007 to provide a fresh and funky new approach to live music entertainment. Since then, they have played all over the world at live events, awards ceremonies, parties, gala dinners and over 200 weddings.
August is a great time to explore Borde Hill Garden with its herbaceous borders and gold standard roses in full bloom. The Paradise Walk has been replanted with late summer colour to delight visitors with kniphofias, salvias, geraniums and asters. The tranquil Italian Garden is also a highlight in August, with its terracotta pots filled with agapanthus and pelargoniums.
