Fidgetbum based in Claygate, Surrey has just found out that they are a Finalist in the prestigious Networking Mummies UK Ltd Recognition National Business Awards in the Best Product Category.

Mel Wood invented her product, Fidgetbum, when her daughter was having trouble sleeping. She would kick off the bedcovers during the night, and wake up cold. Mel tried lots of different solutions, but nothing really worked well. That’s when she came up with the idea of Fidgetbum. The fidgetbum is a stretchy cotton material, that goes under the mattress and then comes over the top of the bed and duvet, and zips up – keeping the child nice and cosy under the covers. The gentle pressure of the luxury material relaxes, soothes and reassures the child – helping them to have a restful nights sleep. The problem was solved overnight – and Mel began to build fidgetbum into a business, where she could help other children.

Mel quotes “I am so proud and honoured to have been announced a Finalist. To me what I do is very rewarding anyway, but to be recognised for that is amazing. Sleep is so important to the health and well being of us all – especially children. We’re so happy to be helping children and their parents to have a good nights sleep.”
