South East’s First Nappy Recycling Trial

South East’s First Nappy Recycling Trial

This spring Mole Valley District Council will run a weekly nappy and absorbent hygiene product collection trial in Fetcham and Bookham.  It is the first council in the South of England to offer this recyclng service.

This will be a 6 month trial and using brand new technology, the waste will be turned into plastic pellets and cardboard fibres.  It is estimated that residents throw away over 1000 tonnes of nappies a year, so this will be a fantastic chance to recycle instead.

If the trial is successful, district wide collections could be rolled out.
