Waverley has announced the winning designs for two new play areas planned for Farnham Park Adventure Play Area and Holloway Hill Play Area.
Over 470 people took park in the Council’s consultation and voted “Flights of Fantasy” as their winner.
Flights of Fantasy is a company that specialises in bespoke play area designs, and have previously created play areas for organisations such as the National Trust and Wildlife Trust.
The winning design for Farnham Park is focussed round a castle and wildlife themed natural play area. The centre piece is a majestic castle, which will resemble Farnham Castle. Other bespoke features include carved animals, themed picnic tables and an exciting range of play equipment.
The winning design for Holloway Hill features a three story watch tower, a custom built playhouse and an extensive range of play equipment; including jump stones, a wobbly bridge and beam balance.
Cllr Thornton, portfolio holder for leisure and culture said, “Waverley is investing £145,000 in refurbishing Farnham Park and Holloway Hill and I am delighted that the local community have got involved in the consultation and voted for their favourite design.”
Work at both parks is scheduled to start in March.
