Guildford Youth Theatre looking for performers aged 8-18

Following in the footsteps of their 2012 cast of the sell-out sensation of Les Miserables School Edition at The Electric Theatre, Guildford, the Guildford Youth Theatre will commence rehearsals for their 2013 production of the classic smash hit musical ‘West Side Story’ this autumn. Featuring timeless music and groundbreaking material, this musical offers its cast a truly wonderful learning experience.

The Guildford Youth Theatre rehearses just off Guildford’s High Street each Thursday during term time 5-6.30pm and is open to young people who are passionate about performing and wish to be part of an exciting company of young actors staging some of the greatest musicals ever written. The final performances will be at Guildford’s Electric Theatre.  Previous smash productions by the Guildford Youth Theatre staged at The Electric Theatre include; The Sound of Music, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Les Miserables School Edition, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Oliver!, High School Musical, Oklahoma!, Guys and Dolls, Annie and The Wiz.

The Guildford Youth Theatre gives young performers the opportunity to work with a professional creative team in a professional theatre. Professional scenery and costumes will be hired in for the week of public performances and a highly skilled technical team will ensure that our talented young performers not only experience a professional theatrical environment, but that they also create shows of the highest calibre. Previous experience is not necessary, but commitment and a love of performing are essential.
