The Moon is a very interesting and mysterious object. Come and find out all about it. You will make a model of the Moon, create some craters, learn some fascinating facts and design and build your own Moon lander. On twilight workshops you also get to visit one of our huge telescopes.

  • With this particular workshop you will find out just how mysterious the Moon actually is. Sometimes you see it at night and sometimes you can see it during the day but why does it rise and set at different times? This year we may see it during the day if the weather is clear.

We continue the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the first astronauts on the Moon in 2019 through to 2020 because it is the 50th anniversary of Apollo 13. Apollo 13 did not actually get to land on the Moon but thankfully did manage to return to Earth safely.

Please bring a torch and wear warm clothes and footwear because it gets chilly in the domes when we look through the telescope.
