The lovely people at Bear Nibbles sent us some delicious healthy snacks to try – way before they hit the shops, lucky us! We tried 2 different flavours of the new Super Sour YoYos, which are now available to buy in Tesco.

You may already be a fan of the YoYo snacks, because they’re made from fruit, veg and natural ingredients with no added sugar and have lots of good healthy fibre in them too. They’re definitely ideal for lunchboxes, picnics, car journeys and shopping trips! Each packet contains two rolls, which we found was plenty for a filling snack for children and adults. Inside the packets are collectible Secret Spy Adventure Cards with fun things to do, and budding super sleuths can send off for a Spy Kit too.

We loved the packaging because it’s just a fun as what’s inside. And the taste of the new Super Sour YoYos is just delicious. Our little product testers said they were “really yummy” and the grown ups may have sneaked a few out of the box secretly for themselves….

As well as contributing to our five a day, we are told that these count as a “healthy extra b” on the Slimming World plan (check with your consultant though) because they’re very low in fat and packed full of fibre. Also in the ingredients is the super-food Spirulina. So if you’ve a sweet tooth like me and are watching your weight too, Bear YoYos are a great alternative to those big packs of sugar covered sour mix sweets owned by the little golden bear if you catch our drift!

Super Sour YoYos are available in Tesco and Sainsbury’s the rrp is £2.49 per pack of 5. For some delicious recipes featuring some of the Bear range of snacks, have a look at bearnibbles.co.uk

In the wonderful series of books by Harriet Muncaster, children can discover how Isadora leads her everyday life being a little different. The first book in the series ‘Isadora Moon Goes to School’ explores Isadora’s decision on whether to attend a fairy school full of all things pink and magical, or a vampire school full of mystery and darkness  – with a few mishaps along the way! With beautiful black and pink illustrations running throughout, the book boasts perfectly proportioned chapters, ideal for newly independent readers.

Children will love following Isadora on her escapades, along with her trusty sidekick Pink Rabbit, Isadora’s favourite toy that her mum (a magical fairy) brought to life for her. From making friends with a mermaid on an underwater mission in ‘Isadora goes Camping’, to rescuing her friends on a escaping cloud in ‘Isadora has a Birthday’ – Isadora’s life is never short of adventure and fun.

The books are a great way of teaching children that it’s okay to be a little different, even if you are a fairy vampire! The imagery used both on the covers of the book and throughout really help bring the book to life – and the glitter and sparkle used on the front covers is sure to catch the attention of imaginative children everywhere.

The Isadora Moon books are available from Oxford University Press at £5.99 each.

In celebration of Halloween 2016, we’re giving away the 4 books from the series to one lucky winner. You can find the competition here, on our Facebook page
