Gedling Borough Council is offering residents the chance to get rid of bulky waste for free for a limited period in January and February.
The bulky waste collection, which is usually chargeable, will take place between Monday 19 January and Friday 27 February and the council will take away up to three bulky waste items from outside resident’s homes.
To take advantage of the offer, from the 7 January, residents can book a slot online at www.gedling.gov.uk/waste or contact them on 0115 901 3621. The number of collections per day are limited and they will be collected on specific days for certain areas.
Portfolio Holder for Environment, Councillor Peter Barnes said;
“We’re running the bulky waste amnesty to give residents a chance to throw away of some of their bigger items of rubbish for no extra cost. Unfortunately we can only do this for a very limited time so we suggest people book a pick up soon to avoid disappointment.”
Some items including rubble, baths, kitchen units and garden and building waste cannot be collected. For a full list of the items that can’t be collected people can visit www.gedling.gov.uk/waste
