Gedling Borough Council is now working with the Arches Project, a Nottingham based charity that supplies recycled furniture, clothing, bedding, child/baby equipment and other household items, free of charge, to people in need who are referred to them.
Gedling Borough Council would like its residents to donate any suitable items that would be fit for re-use to this project rather than sending them to landfill.
The Arches Project needs certain household items such as armchairs, beds, tables, chest of drawers, children’s items, dining tables and chairs, electrical goods (microwaves, heaters, toasters, kettles, irons), mattresses, sofas, TVs, wardrobes and certain white goods.
They cannot take 3-piece suites or 3-seater sofas as their clients’ properties tend to be too small for them.
If people have items of furniture, white goods or small electrical items in good working condition that can be re-used by others less fortunate, please contact the Arches Project, who will collect them free of charge and distribute to those in need on 0115 950 8774 or email[email protected]
