Mayor launches Christmas Toy and Tin Appeal

Mayor launches Christmas Toy and Tin Appeal

A Christmas Toy and Tin appeal has been launched by the Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Jenny Hollingsworth. The appeal, launched this week and ending on Friday 12 December, is looking for any new toys or toys in good working order, for children up to 14 years old, and tinned food.

The unwrapped items are to be collected in a hamper placed in the Civic Centre in Arnot Hill Park, Arnold.  Shortly before Christmas they will be given to a local church for distribution to children and families in the borough who need them most.

Donations can also be handed in at the Civic Centre reception and presents should not be wrapped to make it easier to identify what sort of toys and tins have been donated.

Mayor of Gedling, Councillor Jenny Hollingsworth said:

“We’ve been running this appeal for the past 22 years and the residents of the borough never let us down with their kindness and generosity. We hope this year we can continue this tradition and help support those families around the borough who find Christmas a difficult time financially.”
