Beats and Eats on the Streets of Nottingham’s Creative Quarter

Nottingham’s Creative Quarter is set to buzz with new markets, special events and entertainment set to happen throughout November and December

The area, which is fast consolidating its reputation as the heart of the city’s independent business district, is being further boosted by organisations such as Sneinton Community Traders, Notts Nosh and Lace Market Squared, who will be drawing shoppers to the area with a unique offering of quirky trade and events.

Sneinton Community Traders will also be continuing with their colourful programme of events through November, that has seen considerable success in recent months. As well as a general ‘early bird’ market offering fruit and veg, clothing and household goods on Saturdays and Mondays, 8am-1pm, there are various special events, such as Notts Nosh, which celebrates the best of local food, including growing, foraging, sharing and cooking. They will also be playing host to The Rummage Lounge, where you can sell your stuff for free in a social, lounge atmosphere and the Artful Dodger Craft Market.

Visiting the market is a chance to sample the wares of up and coming businesses, such as Beccy’s Global Kitchen, who have recently moved to a permanent premises in the Creative Quarter after a year of successful trading on the Saturday market.

Kathy McArdle, Chief Operating Officer of the Creative Quarter, commented: “It’s wonderful to see a diverse range of markets coming to the Creative Quarter. It gives us a chance to showcase the amazing range of unique businesses the city has to offer, that differentiate us from other places. We urge people to come along and discover what’s going on in the Creative Quarter this winter – with so much going on, it’s a great chance to experience the lively independent sector and support our local retailers while enjoying a new experience.”

And more is planned to follow very soon. The current run of markets is only the beginning in a range of happenings planned to ensure the Creative Quarter is buzzing in the run-up to the festive season and into next year.
