Gedling Borough Council is looking for volunteers who would like to take part in the performance of a play about local history in Netherfield.
The ‘Tracks in Time’ project, funded by the Heritage Lottery, Gedling Homes and Gedling Borough Council, aims to celebrate the unique railway history of Netherfield though live performances, exhibitions, talks and sideshows.
The first meeting of the performance group will be taking place on Wednesday 16 October at the St. Georges Centre, Netherfield at 7pm. The group are particularly looking for adults, but all ages are welcome and experience is not necessary. Children under 16 should be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The research for the play has been collected by a team of volunteer researchers with Hanby and Barrett, who specialise in bringing local history to life through research, presentations and community plays.
The rehearsals will culminate in the performance of two shows on the 23 and 24 November in Netherfield town centre.
