First week back to School at The Elms Nursery!

Trent CaterpillarsWk1Caterpillars (Babies)

Our youngest children enjoyed messy and mark making activities, using chalk, paint and glue to make lots of pictures and patterns.  We took advantage of the last of the summer sunshine playing outside with water and ice cubes and used all the outdoor play equipment including tunnels, cars, bikes, swings and climbing frames.  We have had lots of fun and had a fantastic first week together.

Butterfly (Toddlers) Trent Growing

In the butterfly room we have been learning all about ourselves and have had lots of fun looking at our eyes in the mirror.  We’ve enjoyed making faces by cutting and sticking different shapes together using lots of glue.  We also used tape measures to see just how tall we have grown over the summer, we are all growing up so fast!

Trent ButterfliesWk1Pre-School

We were all very excited to return to pre-school after the summer holidays to a lovely new look room. Our children have settled into their new routines and are enjoying lots of fun activities. These included a visit to the library, a PE lesson, dancing to the ‘Sticky Kid’ cd in the Dance Studio and making biscuits in the DT room. During circle time we have been learning about ourselves and our families.  We talked about our names and the letters used to spell them. We went for a walk around the school looking at signs to see if we could find any of the letters that were in our names. We have also been looking at photographs of our families and talking about the people who live in our house.  We have drawn some lovely pictures of our families both on paper and on the computer.   A busy week indeed!

Nestled in 45 acres of beautiful grounds, The Elms Junior School and Nursery is part of the wider Trent College family. The Elms is a caring and friendly community of girls and boys aged 6 weeks to 11 years, where good-manners and excellently behaved children are the norm. We recognise children as individuals and give them a wealth of opportunities through specialist teaching and first class facilities. If your child has a talent for something, we will help them to find it and develop it.

There is a family ethos throughout the campus, with nursery children, infants, juniors and seniors all being educated on one site, in their own buildings with their own specialist teachers.   We aim to meet your highest expectations of quality education, giving your child the best possible start in life.
