The Butterfly Lion

The show transferred to the West End and to Broadway and now plays to sold out audiences all over the world and was adapted as a feature film directed by Steven Spielberg.


From the acclaimed writer of War Horse comes this award winning tale of enduring friendship. From the African veld to the rolling Cotswolds and the battlefields of First World War France, follow the adventures of Bertie and the White Lion as they strive to find sanctuary amongst devastating adversity.   





When the orphaned white lion cub that Bertie has rescued is sold to a circus owner and shipped out of Africa to Europe, Bertie vows he will see his friend again. Little does he realise the adventurous, romantic, shocking turns his life will take before that momentous day finally comes.
