We’ll be spending the day showcasing some of our heathland’s very special wildlife.
We’ll be joined by the Amphibian and Reptile Conservation (ARC) Trust who will be bringing along some fantastic British amphibians and reptiles for you to meet. These events are being run as part of the Heritage Lottery Funded Heathlands Reunited project being led by the South Downs National Park Authority.
Reptile ramble: Join us on a short walk where we’ll go ‘off trail’ to some of our favourite spots and look for the four species of reptile that live on the heath at Pulborough Brooks. This is a great opportunity to see some very special creatures close up and find out what we’re doing to manage the habitat for them and find out more about their lives and behaviour. At the end of our walk we’ll have chance to meet the team from the Amphibian & Reptile Conservation Trust so you’ll be able to see (& even hold) the full range of British species. This walk is designed with adults in mind – families can join us for our afternoon ‘superheroes’ session.
10.15 am – 11 am Booking essential – please contact us by email [email protected] or telephone 01798 875851
Heathland superheroes safari: You need some pretty incredible skills to survive on the heath; you could be fast, fierce and strong or you could rely on amazing camouflage to hide from danger. On this family event we’ll be getting up close and personal with some of the remarkable creatures that live on the heath and discovering their super-powers. After our safari you’ll have chance to meet (& hold) some very special amphibians & reptiles who make their homes on our heaths.
2 pm – 4 pm Booking essential please contact us by email [email protected] or telephone 01798 875851
You will be able to meet the Amphibian & Reptile Conservation Trust throughout the day (11 am – 3.30 pm) – normal nature trail entry fees will apply to non-members
